British Foreign Policy

My main area of research is the foreign policy of the United Kingdom during the 1950s. This includes mainly the relations of the UK with the United States and with the European integration. Furthermore, it involves the analysis of certain territories of the British Empire, namely the area of the Mediterranean, with Gibraltar, Cyprus and Malta. In some cases it touches upon countries such as Egypt, Iraq and Israel.

Besides my historical approach, the other main part of my research includes the analysis of current British-EU relations: I examine the events surrounding Brexit since 2017, the reasons leading to the vote and its consequences, with special regard to the union of the UK.
