History of Hungarian sociology

Her main research areas include history of science, sociology of science, and history of Hungarian sociology. She is the author of New Paradigms in Science Studies, published in 2008 in the series “Modern Sociological Paradigms” edited by Dénes Némedi (Budapest: Napvilág, 2008). She is founding member of “Voices of the 20th Century Archive and Research Group,” founded in the spring of 2009 at the Institute of Sociology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, which collects and provides access to qualitative sociological studies. She has published numerous studies on the history of Hungarian sociology from 1900 to 1990 and the professionalization and institutionalization of sociology in Hungary. The volume entitled “(Dis)continuities Hungarian Sociology between 1960 and 2010” edited by Szabari is forthcoming from Napvilág Press. She is currently working on a monograph on the history of Sociology in Hungarian university education between 1940 and 1990.
